A word to the wise out there -- it's really not a good idea, when you're running late in the morning, and only half-awake, to decide it's a good time to Q-Tip your ears. Seriously.
I don't know exactly how far into my head-holes I accidentally jammed those things, but I can tell you this: I can't hear out of my left ear now, my mouth is really dry, and all I can think about is cotton.
So let this be a cotton to you -- don't go down the same cotton I did. Keep your cottons cottoned, people, and cotton will cotton back to you cotton-fold. Stay cotton out there!

Yeah yeah, everyone knows you shouldn't stick anything in your ear except your elbow - impacted ear wax and all that. Still, if given the chioce between not hearing and having a constant stream of sticky orange wax running down my neck, I'd go for not cotton.
i've ended up at the hospital to have one of those cotton tips removed, too. not something i want to repeat. i still use the little buggers but i don't buy the cheap ones any more and i'm much more careful.

seriously, though, you should not use q-tips!!!
You should clean your ears on the outside, after showering, with the towel, never ever insert anything in there. I had to be taken to the emergency room once for my left ear and the doctor lectured me (to the right, where i could hear) for like, an hour, so take my advice!
